Today, we learnt about symmetry. Symmetry has 2 parts like the symmetric figure and the symmetry line. If we want to know where to put the symmetry line, we should see if the figure is cut into half and if we put it back, it’ll be the exact figure like the start it can also be if we split it, it’ll be the same part like the other one. Squares are easy to divide because the symmetry line can be put into 4…. no no, 8! There are some figures called non-symmetrical figure. That’s the name because if we split it, it’s not the exact figure like the other one.

Today in UOI, I did our storyboard. Almost everything worked out well. The only thing that didn’t work well because we didn’t finish it on time. We planned on doing it at home so that we can finish it on time and the deadline is Wednesday. We still need to manage our time well and our cooperation skills. Our strengths are that we can follow instructions and our research skills.

Today we took the whole UOI time for a fieldtrip to Batu Besar. We kept focusing on the topic changing shorelines. We need to take some pictures and we need to draw an observational drawing oh yeah, we also need to note down some info. I think I need to manage my time well because of the observational drawing, I’m 2 minutes late. We learnt something from ibu. Sulastri and the info I got is that long time ago, the rocks are still scattered around the shoreline but now, peoples arranged the rocks so that if people wanted to go swimming, they wouldn’t get hurt. The oil mark is how far the waves are in this year. There are a lot of Mangrove trees but now, it’s all abolished.

Today I researched about Land Changes and it is not completed yet. I’m still doing the story board and I still need more information and Google, is really PUZZLING! I still need some time to finish the story board so I need to manage some time and at home, I should do the research and the story board.

Today, we analyzed a text about cloning. We should find out the organizational structure and the language feature. Hmmmmm….. organizational structures are about the labels or the parts in the text and language features are about how many nouns, pronouns verbs and adjectives.

Today in UOI, I watched a Time Machine movie. The title is Master of time. It talks about time and movements of things. If we are slow, we just waste our time and the movie said that we are slaves of time and we have our own time in our body which measures how long will we live.

Today I researched about the disappearance of islands and it is the hardest topic I got because only a few scientists researched. It took me like the whole period so I only got a few information only about what causes them so I need to research about it again. In homeroom, Mr. Perico asked me to ask Mr. Lukman to fix the AC.

UOI learning madness!!!

Dear Osiris,

Today in UOI, we talked about physical and chemical changes. We had an assessment and we should write whether it is a chemical change or a physical change. Mr. Perico showed us a chart for the scores and I got 28 (which is A.) I think my goal is to learn more words related to this unit and to read lots of books about it. Mr. Perico also showed us a power point presentation and it is about changes too. I wanted to try experimenting on my own in the science lab but Mr. Perico said that it is a pre-unit assessment.

Today, we made a project about changes. We mixed water with brown sugar and Mr.Perico asked us what the changes are once we mixed brown sugar with water and he showed us another experiment and it is mixing acid with a metallic ribbon or something. Not long and the ribbon melts and he told us that it is a chemical change.

Today, I watched a movie called Time Machine. It is about changes in earth. It is like traveling through time and we can see how The Great Sphinx was was made and the Sahara dessert is a forest a long time ago. We should take down some notes too and the movie is really animated.

In Monday, I joined the Badminton club. We did some warm up and after that, we tried to get the badminton stick but the door was locked so we just join the volley club only just for this day.

Today in UOI, we have some visitors. The ones who are coming are my father and Nabilla’s’ uncle. Nabilla’s uncle explained about the whole region in the classroom and my father talked about Karimun and Batam. Nabilla’s uncle went first so my father came at 1 ‘o’ clock. For Bintan, we did our own research and while Nael’s group and Ari’s group went downstairs.

In UOI, we took note the chart of our province and it contains; situations and the resources. After that, we highlighted the information (or words) that are there on our assigned region or city. We moved on to Task 3 and we plan on what to do to in this task. We had a few more minutes and Mr. Perico asked about whose parents are from Karimun and stuffs like that. So I raised my hand and I told him that my father could come.

Today, we didn’t have UOI because of the PYP Dunia meeting stuff.
So we have Maths 2 hours with Ms. Erika (Mr. Perico went to the gym 2 hours.)
We made a Maths problem and shared it with the whole class. Nael created a maniac problem with 3 different answers.After we checked the answers, it’s right! I called Nael a mad scientist and we went home a bit late.

This is the following activities I did in the following subject;

In English, we typed our persuasive essay in the computer room. First, we typed it in the Microsoft Office Word. Then we copied and pasted our work (or essay) in the Microsoft Office Publisher. But before that, we need to choose a layout for our essay.

In Maths, we had top 10 and I got the score 8.Oh yeah, the people who got the score 9 will compete and if one of them wins, they will get a ticket for a spa thingy. The one who got the ticket is Nael. Then we played the battle of the brains (not brainless). We are divided into 5 groups. Our group’s score is 2, Kennedy’s group got 3, and Rizqi’s group got 5 and it’s the same score like Nael’s group. They have a competition for who will be the winner of the game and Rizqi wins.

In UOI, we checked our group mate’s work. Insan didn’t do his homework and we made a mind map about our ideas. We’re done with 3 main ideas but the other one main idea will be continued tomorrow. We got some homework and there are only 2 homework.

Today, I played in my house all day long with my brother. Most of the time, I played my Nintendo DS. I and my brother are planning to trade a Pokemon. He wanted to trade his Dialga (a legendary Pokemon) with my Palkia (also a legendary Pokemon.) Oh yeah, I forgot one thing, I watched a movie called Tom & Jerry Blast Off To Mars. The movie is about two astronauts is going to prove there are no aliens. The story is really funny.

In school, we tried to complete the PYP attitudes examples and Mr. Perico did some groupings. I think the attitudes left are only curiosity, empathy, tolerance, and I forgot some. My group mates are Ari and Vincent. I think we got tolerance. We gave 3 examples. Vincent is the one who wrote the examples. I and Ari gave the examples and Vincent too.

Today we read about Fantastic Mr. Fox and it is one of Roald Dahl’s famous books.
We read chapter 1 till chapter 2. There are 3 mean farmers called: Boggiss, Bons, and Bean. Mr. Fox always steal (he asked his wife first) chicken from Boggiss’ farm, duck from Bon’s farm or turkey from Bean’s farm. Man, it was so funny!

Today I learnt about Riau islands province. We had some activities like making some questions and I came up with this question “What will happen to Riau if all of the presidents died?” and when I asked that question everyone laughed! Well, I’m still not so fast in participating and I still can’t understand the article given in Unit of Inquiry. I can listen really well and I can answer some of the questions. Then we got some booklet to write something about Riau and it was a ore-unit assessment booklet.

Today I went to Time Zone with my brother, Ari, Boon Yew and his brother. I played Dino Duel Masters only. I got the card from the slot machine and it is a master card. His name was Shien and I played. My brother didn’t play and he just bought a B-Daman. I played 16 times and we went home but Ari need to be fetched first.

Today, I went to KFC with my mom, my brother and my mom’s friend. I brought a comic book with me so I could read while waiting. My mother’s drink was fanta, my mom’s friend is coca-cola and my brother got Milo. I waited so long and the chicken came but it’s only 1. I asked my mom where the other chicken and the waiter gets another one so I began eating. When I’m finished with my food, I wanted more and my mom said no. So I bought an ice cream and we went home.

Today, I went to the aikido club. I and Rizqi changed our uniform to the aikido uniform in the toilet and we are joking around until it is 4:49 and we ran really fast and we reached the gym. There are only 4 people and the teacher. We started our lesson and in the last lesson, it was like a bone crushing experience. Why? Well, we should twist your partners hand (don’t kill them o.k.) and don’t make them fall.

Today, I played my Nintendo DS and the game is Pokemon Pearl. I got 7 gym badges and I went to the last gym. It was like a maze so I was so confused on how to reach the gym leader. I told my brother the gym leader’s like a maniac! I defeated all the trainers and I reached the gym leader. But first, I need to save the game so if I lost, I can restart. So I battled the gym leader with my Palkia and the hardest part is fighting his Ambipom. So, I used the attack “Special Rend.” His energy is only 1 left so I attacked him again with “Dragon Claw.” His Pokemon fainted and I won. I got the beacon badge and the TM 53 a.k.a Charge Beam. Then, I went to Iron Island. I teamed up with Riley and we battled together and we went out of that crazy cave and he gave me an egg.

Today, I played Yu-Gi-Oh cards with my brother. He gave me to start first. I drew 5 cards and I drew another card. I didn’t get my power fullest card yet in my deck and it is called The Darkness Dragon yet so I called the Ice Eagle in defense position and I set 2 reverse cards. Then, it’s my brother’s turn. He fused the E-Hero Shining Phoenix Guy and the D- Hero Diabolic Guy and he can specially summon 1 E- Hero Black Neos. He said it’s a rare card and he got it in his deck. When I drew another card, I drew a Trap Card. It is called Just Desserts. I activated it and I chose his E-Hero Black Neos and destroy it and then he got a 500 life points damage. Then, I called another monster called the Axe Dragon. I ended my turn and my brother called the Ghost Fog. I really hate that monster! It can’t be destroyed and every time he recovers, he will get 1000 additional attack power. I drew a card again and it was The Darkness Dragon! I summoned it and my brother gave up and that means…….. I win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the interruption and this should be yesterday but, because I was tired, I’ll do it today and it will be posted tomorrow (Sunday.) Do you know where I went for the holidays, if you guessed it’s Hong Kong, you’re absolutely right! After the 3-way conference, we packed our things and we left home at 11am. We headed to the ferry terminal to go to Singapore. Huh? Did you just ask why we went to the ferry terminal? Yes, that’s an easy question! Do you know how far Hong Kong from Batam is? Well, these are the reasons: first, in Batam, there’s no plane to Hong Kong and last, Singapore is nearer to Hong Kong. After we reached Hong Kong, it was already 10pm. There were a really long line to get the passports checked. We waited for a really long time and then it’s our turn. There’s some candies on a basket. I grabbed a candy, and my brother grabbed 11 candies! After checking, we went to take our luggage.
We got 4 of them and my father was so worried that it is taken by someone. But it’s good that my mom found it. It was destroyed because they just bang the luggage, not transporting it directly from the plane. My father complained and another hour went by.
After that, we found our mom’s uncle and we went home. We took a bus and the bus has 2 floors. I and my brother fell asleep. Then, I didn’t know what’s happening. We went to the apartment and I tried sleeping again but it’s hard. Then I slept. The next day, we went to Disney Land. We only played 2 games because we don’t have much time. We slept in the Disney Land Hotel. In the next day we played many games because we have so much time. In the next day we went to Beijing. We stayed in Beijing for 5 days. After that we went back to Hong Kong and we bought 2 Nintendo DS. 2 days went by and my charger was destroyed. We went back to the shop and we tried fixing it but it didn’t do any good. Good thing my brother has a charger too. When we went to the exit, we saw a Pokemon Diamond & Pearl game. We bought the both of them. We were really glad! Back at the apartment, my brother is the one who played it first. He chose his starter Pokemon, Piplup.
In the next day, I chose Turtwig the grass type. Days went by and we went to Disney Land. We played a lot more game than before! After that we went home to Indonesia and I was really tired!
